Africa

Our expedition across the Dark Continent involves crossing more than 18,000 km of African wilderness, by rail, ship, lorry, bus or thumb (hitchhiking). The route passes through nine countries: Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana, South Africa and Swaziland. Each day we see new people, new landscapes, and experience new sensations and adventures...
a sandstorm, a shootout on the border between Ethiopia and Kenya, riding on the roof of a cattle truck, singing lullabies with an indigenous Swaziland family and much more. During this photographic journey, we observe the lives of Africa’s inhabitants, admire the ancient pyramids in Meroe (Sudan), the rock hewn churches in Ethiopia, the narrow streets of Stown Town, and Cape Town with Table Mountain in its background. We see elephants and their calves, giraffes, rhinoceroses, wallowing hippos and courting lions. We also admire the beauty of the African landscape: the green Simien mountains of Ethiopia, the sandy beaches of Zanzibar, the enormous baobab trees on the banks of the Zambezi, Victoria Falls, as well as the coastal cliffs of the Cape of Good Hope. We present you Africa in a nutshell.
